Hi, I borrowed my friends OM2 a few days ago and after taking about 20 pictures the thing just jammed. I cant move the film rewind lever any more or press the shutter release in any setting. I tried the obvious of replacing batteries and battery check says theyre fine. This puts me into a bad position since it is not even my camera and he is very attached to it. Is there any possibility to repair it? thanks, Thomas |

On the OM2, if the batteries die the camera will remain jammed even after you replace them. To free it, you need to turn the shutter speed ring to "B". You'll find the ring hits a stop at the 1 second position and won't go to "B", until you press a tiny silver button marked "B LOCK" at the lower corner of the lens mount. If this does not fix it, you may have a problem. rick = |

that's not good news. certainly it can be repaired, it could be just a corroded wire at the battery box (this is not uncommon), but you probably don't want to try to figure it out yourself. rick |

The Flash-shoe on my Olympus OM2 is broken (shoe 4) I have tried several shops, but no one can help me. Anybody out there who knows where to find one, or has one they are willing to sell? Regards Joern |
