hi,can anyone tell me how you can convert a 116 roll camera to take a 120 roll ,,,as you know a 116 roll is bigger than a 120,,i read on some camera site that if u cellotape 2 american quarters together it makes spacers for the film chamber,,,has anyone else heard of this ,,,if so does it sound like this would work ,,is there an easier way to convert other than respoiling

Here is a site with a downloadable PDF. This is for a more panorama effect.

Hope this is what you were looking for.

There is an article on my web site about one method for using 120 film in 116 cameras. I also added a couple of rails to narrow the image to fit the 120 film size, but I don't think it really makes much improvement.

For my No.1A Pocket Kodak which uses 116, I found that I could use 120 with no modifications at all. The explanation for that is in the page about the camera at my site.

WOW - Mike those are great links with great photos. I picked up one of those ostrich covered Ansco Viking cameras that I was tempted to try this with. If I get the shutter more reliable, I am more motivated now to try it. Your 1A far exceeded what I thought it would be able to do.
