Hello All.. I'm having a bit of trouble with an A-1 that sounds common, although i have not yet found a solution to the problem. Basically, the shutter refuses to fire, and some of the electricals are tempermental. I can generally get a reading on the light meter, but it turns off when i push it completely. I've replaced the battery twice, and cleaned the contacts to no avail. This has happened once or twice before, and i have been able to solve it by tinkering with the stop down (?) switch. no luck this time, unfortunately. any ideas? |

Could be a dirty release magnet in the base of the camera. Remove the plastic cover and clean the faces with a cotton bud and some lighter fuel. Be careful not to damage the windings of the coil. Don't bother trying to refit the plastic cover. |
