I missed this when I had the shutter open for a cleaning, but the previous owner had somehow dis-engaged the retaining spring from the pusher that shoves the shutter blade actuating ring. Without the tension from this spring, the pusher runs past the post it rests against, and the shutter will not open. The shutter was working fine when I reassembled everything, but the next day it wouldn't open. So the pusher must have slipped off around that time. Anyway, I was able to quickly ascertain what the problem was, and make the necessary repair.
