hello, i am having problems with my om10. Having experienced no problems with it in the past I am slightly confused to find that when loading the film it will not wind on and the take up spool refuses to rotate. However when the film is not loaded the take up spool will happily rotate when pressing the wind button. Its almost as though the film is too heavy for the spool to move? The camera was fine the other week with loading the film? Does anyone have any advice as to what could be causing this? thanks |

without film in the camera, hold your thumb against the film sprockets as you advance the wind lever. if it's in good shape, you should not be able to prevent the sprocket from turning as you wind the lever; if you can, you've got a problem. to figure out where the problem is located, see if the shutter cocked in a single stroke of the lever. if it didn't, then the problem is in the clutch in the sind lever (good news); if the shutter cocked but the sprocket did not turn, the coupling between the advance mechanism and the sprocket (the part that gets disengaged when you turn the 'rewind' button on the front) may be worn out (bad news). good luck = |
