I RECENTLY PURCHASED A YASHICA FR-II ON EBAY. THE CAMERA AND LENS LOOK NICE AND SERVICEABLE. HOWEVER, THE FILM REWIND RELEASE BUTTON IS STUCK IN THE "IN" POSITION. THIS PROBLEM (I THINK) IS WHAT WON'T ALLOW THE FILM ADVANCE LEVER NOR THE SHUTTER BUTTON TO WORK. THERE IS NO CORROSION IN THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT AND I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL NEW BATTERIES. I HAVE REMOVED THE BOTTOM PLATE AND "POKED AROUND A LITTLE" - TO NO AVAIL. (I TRY NOT TO FIX THINGS I DON'T UNDERSTAND). THANKS FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS.

The problem is probably not the release button. It will "pop out" when the film advance lever is wound. Something is preventing the advance lever from moving. Does the battery check light work? Have you tried grasping the shutter curtain between thumb and finger and gently moving it toward the rewind side of the camera?
