I have two Nikkor lenses with a similar problem. The lenses are:

20mm f4 and the 105mm f4 micro

In both cases, the focusing becomes tight at the close end of the lens range.

Any suggestions?

before anything else, try using them for a while--maybe they are suffering from lack of use and the lub. is sitff--last resort--disassemble and relub.
