Hello, I picked up a project camera: an Oly 35 RC that does not fire. I disassembled it following the diagrams at Rick Oleson's site (http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-134.html). After disassembly, I realised that the shutter linkage cannot travel over the full expected range. I have also found that the "blade activating shaft" is not affected by pressing the shutter release, so therefore the shutter is not actually firing. I can manually fire the shutter (I think) by winding it and pulling a small "stop" cam that prevents the shutter from unwinding. This cases the blade activating shaft to fire. This camera also has a dysfunctional self-timer release, which is related to the fact that the linkage cannot travel its full range. I'm looking for any tips you might have, or even detailed drawings or photographs of the shutter linkage assembly from both sides of the main (brass) shutter plate. I want to make sure everything is in place. Thanks, BJ |
