I just purchased a used Olympus OM10 and have shot a few rolls of film and have been playing with it in general. The shutter seems to be a little slow on the first exposure after the camera has been sitting for a short while (about an hour). The longer it sits, the worse it sticks. After that first exposure or two, everything seems to work just fine. Is this fixable? If so, how? Is this a common problem? |

Had exactly the same problem on my (ex-)wife's camera. The first shot or two were always slow... really annoying. Don't know the answer, except to keep the camera awake while you are using it. But check your batteries - apparently alkaline batteries are slower than the silver oxide type... |

The problem is the shutter magnet that controls the second curtain is sticking. Very common in the OM-10. The magnet is under the "floor" of the mirror bor. 2 "cloth" seal strips on either side of floor then pull up on the floor. Sometimes a lillte glue holds it down. The magnet is in the back left corner. A little alcohol on some cotton held between tweezer tips and run between the magnet surfaces will 9 times out of 10 fix the problem. |

Terry, If you have an OM-10 handy, could you post photos of where the magnet is? The magnet in my OM-10 seems to be right in front and there is no room to run any cotton between the spaces. Maybe I'm mistaking some other part to be the magnet. Thanks, Rahul |
