My Yashica Tl-Electro X ITS eats up batteries too fast, they last only 3-4 rolls. The problem is not that the batteries completely die, but the meter becomes erratic before I need to change to new batteries.
Let's say I am shooting in available light at EV8. I start at 1/30 sec and f/1.4 (100ASA) It shows overexposure. So far so good. But I need to stop down to f/16 until the light switches to underexposure but then I need to open up until f/2 until the underexposure light goes off. Anyway after 45 seconds or so off going back and forth between under and over exposure it finally shows the corect reading of f/2.8 As batteries get weaker the time needed for the correct reading increases.
Do you think I have a problem with the meter (the CdS cell probably too old) or the wiring/electronics?

One of the small LEDs on my Yashica TL Electro doesn't work, although there is power to it. I am looking for a spare part for this. The voltage seems to vary between 2 and 4 depending on the shutter speed dial position. Is there a generic replacement available?
