Gentlemen: this afternoon I bought a beautifull Minolta A5 (thinking its 40+ years old, is near mint condition!) but diaphragm ring seems to be uncoupled (or broken) internally so the iris is not closing nor opening (actually it´s fixed at f:16 aprox.). The camera looks very well, so I think it was set aside after this problem appeared. Can anybody give me a clue, or help to find dismantling and repair instructions for it? Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Ernesto J. L´Episcopo |

Gentlemen: I solved the problem, and it was really easy. There is a small screw in the diaphragm ring which couples it with a tiny bracket inside the lens barrel. I unscrewed it, and looking closely with a magnif. glass saw the internal bracket. It was just to align the bracket and screwhole, and placing the screw back in its place to solve the problem. Hope this will help somebody else with same problem! |
