I have two Canonet original style with the advance lever on the bottom. The shutters do not release on either camera, and the release button does not always go all the way in. When it does go all the way in on time release, and then turned back to regular the film advance can be advance. It seems as if something is not actually conceding, rather then shutter stuck. Any suggestions, resources? Is there anyone who still works on these Amazingly the light meters actual work, if not totally accurate. |

Robert, These older Canonets have shutter priority automation. You might know this already, but the shutter release is blocked when there is insufficient light. Take the aperture dial off 'Auto' and see if the shutter will release. If it still does not work, your shutter mechanism and blades will need cleaning - lots of information on how to do this can be found on this site. Good luck, Jan |
