Hi, everybody,
I am in trouble about an old Regula 35 mm camera (early 50's I guess). After repairing the shutter and selftimer the twofold sheet-metal steel ribbon broke where the spring for cocking the shutter was fixed to. I know now why this happened: I shouldn't have cocked the shutter without a film in the camera, as then there is no stop after the length of one shot and I probably overstretched the mechanism. The steel ribbon which winds around the cocking shaft is still long enough to fulfil its task, and it was no problem to drill two 1 mm holes in its two overlapping ends, which in the original state of the mechanism were riveted together with approx. 1.5 mm distance from each other to provide eough room for inserting the spring. The question is: how do I reassemble these ends and the spring? Riveting is mechanically not possible.
