i have a problem understanding how the light meter works. when the shutter button is slightly depressed, the red light switches on. pressed further down, right before the shutter release position, the red switches off and the yellow switches on. this is the case in all lighting conditions. what to do? is this a meter problem? any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks Cheryl |

I think you have a meter problem. Probably it is related to dirty slide switch contacts and/or a broken pad. The pad problem has been discussed quite often in this forum, please check the archive. To clean the contacts, remove the bottom plate and peek into the camera from below with the nozzle of a can of electronic contact cleaner (do NOT use WD40 or similar!). The contacts are faintly visible approx. 2cm (almost one inch) from the bottom of the camera. Give them a good spray, press the release button several times and spray again. |

Hello Cheryl; This is very useful web page for broken pad replacement. (Thank you Michael) http://feuerbacher.net/photo/frame.html?repair.html~Main The broken pad often causes that unstabilized behavior on the meter. |
