Hi all, On my Minolta XG1, the second curtain doesn't work : at every speed from 1s to 1/1000s the sound is the same. Furthermore, it works properly with the B pause. What's wrong with it ? Yves |

There is nothing seriously wrong with your camera. Your camera needs a good overhaul and shutter lubrication. We service this model and would gladly help you out. Visit us at www.garryscamera.com for more details. Tom www.garryscamera.com |

In fact, the problem seems to come frome the speed dial resistors. Comparing to another XG1 speed dial, mine get 1/125,1/250,1/500,1/1000,1/500,1/250,1/125,B or something like that. Strange behaviour, isn't it ? |

Ok, the resistor problem is resolved : just a mistake in the measure, infact. Concenrnig lubrication of the shutter : it's sound strange to me : if the second curtain works properly in B mode, why it is not working at any speed ? PS: I'm currently modifiyng a XG1 to remove the penta and be able to use the ground glass directly as a viewfinder. Silly, but I like doing this sort of stuff. |
