Ok so there are some weird things going on here... I just bought this AE-1 on eBay, it says it was "professionally serviced"...BS! It has the usual film advance stuck/shutter won't release problem. This happened with my old AE-1 after I dropped it. But another thing is that the light meter always says there is not enough light... even when set at ISO3200 on 2 second exposure pointed at a lightbulb... The lens I am using is fine, I had it checked out by a shop... but this camera is in excellent cosmetic condition, yet it won't shoot. Anyone?

Frequently, If and AE1 is dropped, or bumped, the black bezel around the speed dial can cause a problem. It is held on for a series (3-4) small posts that project thru the top cover and then are heat-sealed. These break off and pieces can fall into the wind/shutteer gears and jam the camera. I have used various methods to correct, depending on what I find. On any AE1 repair that involves the top cover removal, I always put a drop of super glue on the bottom of the posts so that don't fall out in the future.
