Hello All,
I've picked up a great Canonet 28, fixed the inoperative meter, but even with a robust alkaline at 1.55v, the camera overexposes by 2-3 stops.
I'm not interested in pulling this thing apart just yet, so my question concerns how to deal with this meter in it's present state--which I've yet to see go above 1/125 even on a sunny day (the Canonet 28 is total AE, save for being able to adjust f-stops when using a flash...and if you do that, you're stuck with 1/30 shutter).
I'm going to be shooting Kodak TX400, so my hypothesis is that if I rate the film at ASA 400 but develop for, say, ASA 125 or thereabouts, I might be able to compensate for the camera's tendency to overexpose.
In your estimation, would this work?
FWIW, I've got a Wein cell in the camera now, but I'm thinking that I might be better served--in this case--by putting the over-juiced alkaline back in? |
