first, try pressing gently on the self timer lever to force it to run down until the shutter releases. if this doesn't work, you might try first inverting the camera and dripping a few drops of lighter fluid into the slot where the ST lever comes out - then QUICKLY, before the fluid has time to get to the shutter blades and the glass, set it right side up again and try pushing the lever as above. if neither of these works, disassembly will be required.
in any case, once you have it released, do not use the self timer again - it's just asking for trouble for no good reason.
