My GSN underexposes.
Under stable lightconditions I tested the GSN on a neutral surface. Set on 100ASA I got, f1,7 red light on, f2 red light out, then no lights untill f8 yellow light on. When the yellow light first comes on that means the shutterspeed is about 1/30s. I performed this test with both a mercurybattery and a LR44.
When I measure with my Olympus OM2n, 100ASA and f8 it indicates 1/2s.
Anyone encountered this before?
The GSN is my first rangefinder and I already like it very much, but I want to take (good) pictures with it |

I would run a roll of some fussy film like Kodachrome through it under different light conditions and makw note of how it does. If the results are OK you can always tape over the lights. |

I already did.
Pictures in sunny conditions are good.
In dim conditions (indoors) they're dark and gray, really underexposed. The shuttertime adapts to the lightingconditions, its longer indoors but not enough.
Could I have some problems with contacts? |

One more check if you haven't done it already. On a bright day try a series of snaps from fairly wide open to closed all the way down in the same light conditions. This might mean the shutter/diaphragm relationship is OK and the meter is not capable of accurate low light readings. I think. |
