at speed equal or faster then 1/250 shutter works properly, but all other speeds (including Bulb) doesn't works... shutter opens, but not closes. I can't see any reason... I think something simple happends - maybe dust or some like it appears inside... How to disassemble body for look and clean shutter mechanism, from which side it accessable ? Maybe some links ? Thanks. |

Since the flash synch speed of the FM2 is 1/250 second (1/200 in the early ones), my guess is that at speeds below this it transitions onto a different escapement in the timing system (sorry, i've never actually looked to verify this). This escapement may just be dirty, or a screw or something might have come loose and fallen into the gears. I do have sketches for reaching and (if necessary) removing the shutter from teh FM2 - it involves removing the mirror box and going in from the front. Not a simple job, but easier in the FM2 than in some other cameras. Email me if you'd like a copy of the sketches. rick : ) = |

Thank you rick ! You are right, the problem was very simple - small screw was released and one spring became unfixed... Disassembling and assembling realy isn't easy... But i done it ! |
