My Minolta XG-M's shutter has started to stick open when I use a flash, and won't close until I manually turn off the flash unit. It's getting so bad that I waste 50% of my shots. What do you think is going on? Is it something easy I can repair, or do I need to get it professionally serviced? I am good at fixing things, but have never tackled camera repair. Thank you. |

My flash bracket has loosened up, causing the flash to not work all the time. How can I tighten the bracket? |

Mike, there should be a thin metal plate in the hot shoe--this plate usually has the serial number engraved in it. You can carefully lift this plate up with a dental pick or similar tool (there may be a small slot near the center contact) and slide it back and off. Try not to bend it too much. Underneath, you should find the screws that hold the shoe in place. James |
