I have 3 Canon A1's On one the light meter consistantly measures 2 stops under. My question is how does one adjust this? I know that there is 3 controls on the board but I hate to touch the wrong one. I am thinking that one is for the light meter.

You should use the exposure compensation control for small errors such as this. It's use may save you a great deal of grief later on.

The output of the SPC is adjusted by TWO of the three 'pots' you mention. If you have a DVM,adjustable standard light source, table of setting values and a 50/1.4 lens with well adjusted diaphragm, then adjustment is very simple.Just tweaking the 'pots' can lead to inconsistencies at the extremities of the measurement range.

The A1 Repair Manual gives all the details and it can be downloaded from Christian Rollinger's excellent Canon FD site.

Thank you very much. I was just waiting for the manual and thought that I would adjust it while I had it apart. I did repair the bad ground on the flex circuit which brought it back to life.
And I think that I will still wait.
