At a local antique shop there is a Zeiss Contessa LKE. It looks in good condition other than two smalls spots on the lense, but it doesn't seem to be able to wind on? Is it likely that this can be easily fixed? And also, just out of interest, how does the shutter work on this camera? Any information would be much appreciated. |

I haven't ever seen an LKE model but does it use the frame counter & wind lock that relies on the film being loaded like the folding Contessas, Continas and Ikonta 35? If so, open the back and rotate the sprocket feelers towards the take-up until the frame counter advances, then you should be able to cock and fire the shutter. You should hear the ping releasing the wind lock mechanism. If the shutter still doesn't fire, it probably needs some service. |
