THE BOOK states the ensign 820 autorange cameras came with an unspecified variety of lens/shutter combinations, but a ZEISS? My camera looks to be untouched. Anyone know for sure if such a lens/shutter was fitted to the 820 autorange? |

I don't know the lens/shutter combos of the Ensign 820, but in general it is no problem to fit a lens with matching focal length and/or a shutter with matching rear tube diameter to other folding cameras. |

I have an Ensign Selfix 220 with a Schneider Xenar lens in a Compur shutter and Adrian Richmond's Ensign Camera history site lists the Autorange as having, among other lenses, the Tessar (Ross had, after all, been a licensee for Tessars up to WWI). Francis Otto |

I have an Ensign 420 with a Tessar. There's couple of photos on my website http://www.provins.org.uk Second page of vintage folders. Roger |

Thanks to all. Looks like I won't need to do a lens/shutter transplant after all|! |
