All of you nice tech heads have replied before so here goes: Canon F1.2 58mm oil on shutter blades tho not a lot, nice lens easy to get at the oil and clean but will the oil keep repeating , very delicate blades , what shall I do I love this bit of glass. thanks guys Tim |

To remove the oil completely you will have to disassemble the aperture assembly. But re-assembling an aperture with 15 or more blades is demanding... |

Thanks for the info just had a second go at removing the locking ring . first attempt was ok.second attempt it tottaly locked up and i ended up ruining the lens bent all the brass ? gear guides , gutted, with 2 much force trying to get the locking ring free. feel bad about it will live and learn,.....thanks anyway .....hope this makes sence.....i removed it once was ok, second go . locked it up. |

My suggestion: Save the bits and pieces to that Canon f1.2 lens and sell it on eBay or elsewhere. Would be a shame to toss it out. Someone always seems to be looking for a better front or rear lens surface. |
