I have a Kalimar KX500 which is the same thing as a Minolta X-370. When I turn the camera on, inside the viewfinder it shows the red LED (overexposure). I stopped down to f/22 with a shutter speed of 1/1000 to see if the LED in the viewfinder would change. Nada. So, this means something is up with the meter. It keeps giving me the red LED no matter what I change my f/ or shutter speed to. How do I fix this?
It might be worth checking the aperture lever on the body of the camera which is operated by the lever on the back of the lens, this lever on the body moves in an arc around the outerpart of the lens fitting. The arc starts at a position of about 11.00 hours and and will be able to be moved to a position of about 13.30 hours, and when released from the 13.30hrs. position it should spring back to 11.00 hrs.position.
