The film counter is stuck on the dot past #36. Everything else is fine. Any help would be deeply appreciated!

To clear it once, try to find the little lever in the groove at the top of the back door, just below the advance lever, and pull out on it gently. This is supposed to spring out when the back opens, but chances are it's clogged up with gooey light seal material.

If this doesn't make it reset, you may have to take the top off. A new set of light seals would be a good idea too (see discussion below).

This is an excellent, very underrated camera.

Sears KS-2: Name variant of the Ricoh XR-7, sold 1981-82. McKeown's $50-75.

Ricoh acquired something of a reputation for good overall reliability of its SLRs during this period, coming in No.3 behind Nikon and Yashica in a contemporary reliability survey.

Hi, Christina.
Are the batteries okay? It sounds like your camera is wound but the shutter has not fired. Please let us know.

I believe Rick knows this camera pretty well...let's ask him. (I'll do that and I'll be back to you here)

Hi, Christina. Unfortunately we can't seem to think what might be causing the problem. At least, unless we could look at it. I have some working K-Mount cameras. Could you tell me what features you need in a camera?
You can e:mail me at [email protected] if you want.
Best regards,
Jon
