Hi all, recently I had to open the top cover of my yashica tl electro X ITS for fixing and cleaning the pentaprism. Everything looked OK, but when I tried a shot with the flash, it happened that the flash was firing as soon as I connected the synch cord to the X socket instead than firing when shooting the picture (as it should be). What could it be due to? Some short circuit? Nevertheless, I didn't touch the electric part, only the pentaprism! Any idea would be really appreciated. thanks Francesco |

Sounds as if you have trapped a wire and damaged the insulation. The PC socket has a direct short between the inner and outer connections - Hence the flash firing as soon as it is connected. |

Hi Glenn! yes, it sounds like that. I'll reopen and check. It's a little bit boring, because to open the top of the yashica electro you have to remove the shutter speed dial which is sticked by glue. So difficult to remove without ruining it... bye Francesco |
