I did have a nice working Pentacon Six TL (yesterday) I did a series of film spacing test and everything worked Perfectly! Today I was "messing" with it again firing the shutter etc. And somehow I got the shutter curtains out of sync (I think?) Now when I fire the shutter only the mirror fires. With the film door open I noticed that the curtains move forward as I slowly wind the advance, but it seems they aren't moving far enough ahead to lock in place. When I start moving the advance lever back to it's resting place the shutter curtains move back also. So the curtains never open to expose the film, they just rock back and forth covering the same ground. Any info on this? I have repaired many cameras in my day, rolleis, folders compurs, prontors...but a Pentacon?? It's a new one and I need a little info before I open this sucker up. And yeah I know "you should send it off for repair" but that's no fun. |

I have a pretty good sized collection of notes on this camera. I can't think offhand what's happened to yours, but I can at least give you enough information so that you can get inside and take a look. The first few steps are here: http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-129.html email me for the rest...... |
