Hoping someone has some advice on this. I bought a Canon FT-b on e-bay and the light meter doesn't seem to work. I put in a fresh battery but still the needle does not respond to any changes in light intensity. Anyone else ever come across this problem? Any suggestions? Gerard Curley |

Does the battery check function move the needle? Assuming that it does not, the problem could be due to:- a/ bad wiring, dirty contacts. b/ faulty switch. c/ stuck galvo needle. The most common problem I have found is a stuck galvo needle. You will have to remove the top and make sure needle is free. You can check the wiring at the same time. |

Glenn: I cleaned the contacts and it works like a charm. Don't know why I didn't think of cleaning it in the first place. Obviously putting new batteries in and cursing like a sailor wasn't working. Thanks for the advice. Gerard |
