I was wondering if there is a way to determine the manufacturing year of a vintage camera using the serial numbers. I recently aquired a really nice Ikonta,and am curious to know it's actual age. Thanks
I just did a Google search for Zeiss serial number and the first site gave data for Zeiss age based on lens serial number and a link to another site that describes Ikonta production dates as well. Try these links:
The Internet has tons of such information. Some of us classic collectors & tinkerers have spent many hours locating such data. I often save the web pages to my hard drive since some good sites may later disappear.
