You can ask Jurgen Kreckel (certo6.com) whether he works on the Seagulls. He specializes in folding cameras. Alternatively, Essex Camera Repair (essexcamera.com) is always a good bet -- they seem to work on all types of cameras, no exceptions. |

I bought the same camera in mint condition on eBay for about $60 a few years ago and I think that $400 is a crazy price for a Seagull folder with a low resolution triplet lens. |

"but I do not see the aperture close and open when I click the shutter button" Did you mean "the shutter opening and closing?" If you expect the aperture to close down only during the exposure like it does in an SLR camera, no it's not supposed to do so. |

Do you have the user manual ? Can be found on the Butkus site. Maybe you forget to tension the shutter (on the lens barrel) winding the film with the film advance lever does NOT cock the shutter ! If you don't mind cleaning the shutter, there is a Seagull for a reasonable price on eBay UK item number: 120874203029 |

I used Essex Camera Repair for years. But I understand they got flooded out of their place in New Jersey. I went to essexcamera.com and it said the site had expired on 5/24/13 and what I found looked a little hinkey to me. |

I was looking for Bronica repair and Essex Camera was recommended to me. Not sure if they will be back or not, I got lucky and found a good Bronica body at a reasonably price. David |
