I bought a Telex Caramate 4000, which takes a DDM bulb (80w @ 19v). That bulb died, and I had another bulb on hand, but its much higher power: EJV, which is 21v @ 150w. I put it in the projector and it works fine. The slides look brighter, and I ran the projector for about 5 minutes and it didn't seem to get noticably hotter than usual. I'm wondering what the danger is, if any? |

The problems you could encounter are overheating and you could also damage the wireing, the new bulb draws almost twice the current. |

I just checked the Sylvania Photo and AV cataloge (1986). There is no listing for a substitute for the DDM. |
