Hi just got the bug I'm afraid, now have Lynx1000 & MG1 ( work perfectly !), Lynx 14 - which I guess will need a meter assembly ....read on for a tale of foolish hamfistedness ( are these the same as the ones in the 5000 by the way ? ) & 5000 on order. Can you use a meter from a junked 5000? I'm awaiting a battery for the 14 but after spending 3 days cleaning the "mint" example & aligning the vertical image, I was attaching a bit of silver foil underneath the meter ( gone black there ) when the two white posts / stops that sit either side of the needle fell into the coil ! So If these were connected as part of the circuit then I'm taking it there's a zillion to one chance of it working now - cos they fell out "unconnected " to the floor.. Are they integral parts of the circuit or just like "bump stops" for the needle ? I'm trying to be optimistic but.... If the 5000 on its way over from USA has a stuck aperture ring etc etc then is a meter transplant a possibility ? Thanks and glad for any advice |
