Hi, I'm new here. This site has been extremely helpfull to me by searching the archives for questions about my camera. I had the problem where you wind the cocking arm several times before the latch for the mirror box finally catches. Using information I found here I was able to locate and solve the problem (for now). The problem was a rubber bumper that appears to be on it's way to being a blob of goo. I cleaned it up good and dabbed a small amount of silicone lube onto the pivot. My question is where to get a suitable replacement for this little rubber sleeve. It seems ok for now, but being that it is in a state of decay I don't think it will be long..... Does anyone have some experience with this? If it helps here is a picture with an arrow pointing to the problem area. Thanks for any help or insight. |

Shoe heel rubber seems to work as replacement for most camera stops. Just cut and shape with an X-acto knife. Henry |

Thanks Henry, simple and sounds like it would work just fine. I did some more searching too and came up with this thread. https://kyp.hauslendale.com/classics/forum/messages/2/8173.html?1165479124 Sounds like that would work good too. |
