I have a Canon 100mm new FD F2.8 lense and the aperture blades are stuck wide open and they won't stop down. This lens came with a FTb purchased from eBay. Any suggestions on how to fix? Or should I sell it for parts? Thanks Rick. |

i have sketches for the 50/1.8 version - construction might be similar. if so, it is an easy fix. in any case, whoever you sell it to for 'parts' will fix it and either use it or sell it as a good lens. of course, the way things go on ebay, you might get more for it as 'parts' than as a working lens anyway.... |

Thanks Rick. I disassembled as you descirbed and there doesnt seem to be any aperture blades at all in the lense. Maybe somebody had it apart before and couldn't get it back together. Oh well, I diin't pay much for it. I'll just sell it for parts on eBay. |

Sometimes when they're really stuck they can fool you into thinking they're not there at all.... did you remove the diaphragm assembly from the lens? |

Hi Guys, I seem to have the exact same problem (also an E-Bay purchase!)I have a Canon FD 50mm 1:1.8 and when I try to stop down,no blades appear. I also bought a Macro FL 50mm 1:3.5 which won't go on my T90 as the Breechlock ring is locked in an off centered position (not aligned with the red dot.Can anyone give me any advice on these problems (appart from telling me not to buy stuff off E-Bay!)Thanks .Pete |
