I have read a couple of old threads with great interest, as they seem to have some ideas for the very Canonet GIII QL17 problem I'm having, which is: wind lever never locks (eg double wind prevention simply doesn't work -- I can wind and wind and wind). Old threads, for reference: https://kyp.hauslendale.com/classics/forum/messages/6901/2406.html https://kyp.hauslendale.com/classics/forum/messages/6901/2937.html I see, thanks to Rick's diagram, that the solution is to do some linkage bending, and I have my camera open and I'm looking and watching as I wind and click but I'm still not entirely clear on how the part should be bent. Would someone mind clarifying? Thanks! |

The link has an arm that points up. If your wind lever fails to lock, bend the arm AWAY from the lens to correct the problem. Remember, though, that when you first close the back, the wind lever is not SUPPOSED to lock for the first 4 strokes, until the frame counter reaches #1. |

Yep, got it. Bend arm away, close back, wind 4 times, see if problem is fixed. Rinse, repeat. Thank you Rick for the clarification (and the original diagrams - very helpful indeed). |
