I have an Olympus OM2n. The fabric shutter bunches up when the winding mechanism is advanced, letting light in on the film. I have a spare OM2 with a good shutter. Can anyone give me some direction on replacement? I don't want to start this job without some knowledge of dissasembly. I do fix things from time to time, but I haven't taken an SLR apart before. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...Tracy |

Personally, I think this is a nonstarter. The good news might be that your shutter might not be bad but just have a cord off its pulley.... but the OM2 is definitely not the best choice for your first entree into camera repair, it's small, complex and electronic (and relatively expensive), none of which are positive characteristics for this purpose. |

I can see that a cord seems to be loose at the bottom of the shutter when it bunches up. How do you get to the pulley to put the cord back on? I have three of these with two now not functioning properly. Kind of have nothing to lose. I repair avionics for a major airline, so maybe I'm stupid enough to think I can fix it!!!
