Hi – I’m new to the Forum. I have a few “old” – classic cameras, some I use, some I do not, but I would really like to work on some of them – I think CLA is the term. Other web sites tell you to “send it to a professional” – but I do not want to do this – I would rather spend my time doing what I can. For starters I have a few Nikon F Cameras – 2 are OK – nice users, but one clearly needs some attention as the mirror sticks – is this an easy lube job? I would like to CLA this camera, (a basic F with FTn). – any pointers would be appreciated. I see that stuff can be purchased from the micro tools site – I have some stuff, can make some stuff – but again any help in this direction would be appreciated. What oil/grease is used – I see the stuff on the micro tools site but surely there are others, (I live in the UK – so any stuff I get would have to be bought mail order from Germany). I have ordered a copy of Tomosy’s Leica Camera Repair book as I have a llla that needs a little TLC. Thanks |
