Hi, I just got a dirty Optar lens, but cannot figure out how to remove the front and rear elements. I only had medium format lenses and they all had easily unscrewable elements, so I tried the same thing with no luck. Do I need to apply just a little bit more force or is there another way to get in?

As far as I know they just unscrew. Try getting some double-sided foam adhesive tape and wrapping it around the barrels, and then grab that: it gives you a hellish grip with no risk of scratching the lens.

I will try that, thanks for the tip!
