Hello, I am from France, so please excuse my potantial bad english. I won on e-bay a petri 35 color camera with light meter problem. It seems there is no power coming to the cell. I am trying to open the camera. Could somebody explain how to open the top plate, and secondly how to remove the battery holder as I see no screw on it. thanks a lot. Laurent |

To remove the top: Remove the pin-faced screw holding the focusing wheel and remove the wheel. Unscrew the rewind knob (hold the film rewind fork with a pliers). Remove the collar nut under the rewind lever. Remove the screw at the wind end of the top. The top can now be lifted off. The shutter speed dial and f-stop dial stay with the top. You should note their positions as they will need to be in the same position when you replace the top. Also be careful with the aluminum frame around the film counter window. It is very fragile. At the bottom, there are three small screws which hold the plate around the battery holder. Just remove them and you will have access to the wiring. That is the most likely problem on this model, caused by corrosion from expiring battery fumes. |
