Hi! I've just received a Contaflex Super from TheBay for the princely sum of 8 British pounds and 25 pence, but unfortunately, no matter which speed I set, it always seems to fire at the same one which at a guess is somewhere between 1/ 125th and 1/500th of a second. This happens even when I set it on 'Brief/Bulb'. Perhaps it's worth mentioning that the meter is defunct, especially as I've previously heard that there is some sort of reaction between the shutter and the meter, though I can't imagine what that may be, as I'm certainly unaware of Contaflex ever employing either Shutter, or Aperture Priority. It would be very much appreciated if someone could help me with this problem. Many Thanks. FK. |

I have some notes on the Contaflexes, but I'm reluctant to go there.... it's one of those "Here Be Dragons" cameras. |

Are the blades actually opening..as seen from the back? Compur shutters on certain Contaflex models have a release escapement..M-Rechen.. which wears to a sharpe edge and will allow the camera to 'click'but not open the blades. AS Rick says..Dragons do exist therein. |
