I have an SX-70 model 2 that worked fine about a month ago when I loaded it with 600 film. The camera has been stored in a cool/dry place since then. Today I loaded it with fresh 600 film and nothing happened - it didn't eject the darkslide and I didn't hear any sounds from the motor. I tried cleaning the battery contacts with a pencil eraser, and loaded the film pack into another camera to verify that the battery was good (it was good). Is there anything else I could try to revive the camera? Thanks! |

The first thing I'd do is to put the spent 600 film pack back in if you still have it, and see if the camera responds. The battery should still be good. There's always a possibility that the new pack is defective. If you don't have an old pack, you might be able to check the battery with a meter. Beyond that, I have nothing to suggest. I have a couple of SX-70's, but not with me, so I can't fiddle with them to see if they reveal any other ideas. |
