I have a Canon T70 which has a couple of problems. First off the internal battery has died, so it doesn't remember settings or how many shots it has taken. Worse than that though, the main batteries will drain within about 2 days (whether it is used or not). Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? |

It sounds like a short, either caused by a pinched wire or a fault in a circuit. Pinched wires are not real uncommon, often they cause no problems for years until finally the insulation wears through. Generally, though, these happen on older cameras with simpler wired circuits and conductive metal chassis construction. In a highly electronic camera with a plastic body, a bad circuit might be a more likely cause. |
