I have a Tokina 28mm f/2.8 for Minolta MD. It is a great lens, but recently the focusing ring has become loose. It will still focus just fine, but the ring slips while doing so. I first noticed it happening a week or so ago, and within that time (fewer than 5 photos made with it) it has gone from mildly noticable to extreme. It now slips about an inch in arc length (from the 3 to 10 ft mark on the subject distance scale). Can this be easily repaired? I can probably replace the lens for $60 or less if I buy a used lens, but I know this lens and would prefer to repair it if possible. Thanks in advance for any help. |

Two places to look for the screws that secure the ring to the focus mechanism. 1: under the rubber focus grip. B: Behind the name ring, inside the filter ring. It may unscrew, or it may just pop out. Bill |
