I have a Canon AF35M II and the battery cover no longer stays closed, thus I have no contact and can't fire off the camera. I could probably "duct tape" it closed but this is messy and the tape soon stretches and contact is again lost. The plastic hasp or lip has broken off so the battery cover lid does not stay closed. Can I get a replacement part (if so where-please) and re-install it, or is this a job for the camera repair shop. Would epoxy putty work? Thanks in advance.
I have been this route on the AF35M II - and there's not much you can do to repair the battery cover. It is a flimsy piece of plastic and there is no decent reliable adhesive which will weld it. You may have to use some tough non-stretch tape until you can procure a replacement battery cover from from a flea market junker. (Which is what I did)
