Hello. I recently acquired an OM-1n. The meter moves by itself in response to adjustments to aperture/shutter speed even though there is no battery in it and it the switch is in the "off" position.

Is there a some strange "ghost-battery" phenomenon occuring or is there a much more simpler explanation that I have overlooked?
Just wanted to know what you thought, and thanks in advance.

Cheers

the metering system works on pully cords. If the shutter speed is set to a slow speed ie. 2sec's then adjusting the aperture will move the meter needle up or down.

Hmm. (Off topic sort of)...my newly acquired OM-1n needle when switched on reacts as it should when the f stop is changed, but it doesn't pivot up/down from the midpoint level (so when indicating the sweet spot its not straight). The pivot position appears to be higher than the middle point so to reach the sweet spot the needle is sloping on a down angle, not level. Exposed a roll of 100ASA okay. Am I just unlucky, has it been this way since new? Paranoia? Help.
