In case of the Hi-Matic11 it might be difficult. I am not sure about this one but at least one of its predecessors, the Hi-Matic7, used a 'split' CdS sensor to measure the upper and lower half of the image separately. Both parts of the sensor were connected such that the part with less illuminiation had bigger influence. If the Hi-Matic has the same CdS sensor as the Hi-Matic7, the sensor will have 3 pins instead of 2 like on a single-field sensor.

However, it is not easy (and sometimes impossible) to find proper replacements for CdS sensors. They don't have a single resistance value, usually the dark resistance and the resistance at an illumination of 100 or 1000 lux are specified.

Thanks, Winfried. I already disassembled the Hi-Matic 11 from the lens front and got the CDS out. This is 1 CDS only, it is a 2 legs CDS with a 91K Ohm resistor in-series, and there 3 wires coming from shutter/aperture inside connecting to the resistor leg, CDS-resistor leg, and the CDS leg.

The problem is the CDS short-circuited. I can probably find a generic CDS, but there different types of CDS at range of few hundreds Ohms or range of Kilo-ohms, am not sure what shall be the values of the resistance the orignal CDS .

I have replaced the CDS, the auto-exposure is working though I have to set the ASA to 500 for an ASA200 Film. There is another problem: the mechanical zero of the Light Meter was not on F1.7 but on F5.6 instead. Could any teach me how to re-align the zero point for the Light Meter? Thanks.

I have a Minolta Himartic 7S-II. Recently, i opened up the front panel of the lens hood to clean the lens, when i put all the things back, the Light meter,in Auto Mode, it showed default value(Zero Value) to F5.6, i opened it up again to check if anything was wrong, but now it shows F2.8, instead of F1.7, can anybody teach me how to fix it back.??
