I just bought a Yashcamat 124g in great condition but the taking lens appears to have fungus. I tried to clean it with cleaning solution but it did not do anything. Does anyone know how to clean it? (I cleaned both the lens from the exterior and interior) I also have another Yashcamat 124g with a cleaner taking lens and I may just want to swap the taking lens. Does anyone know how? |

I've had good results using a 50-50 mixture of strong amonia and hydrogen peroxide, which seems to be the most-often mentioned method on this site. Maybe it doesn't matter, but I think the hydrogen peroxide ought to be fresh. For me, however, the haze and fungus does not simply dissolve away on its own. I soak the lens overnight, and then rub the glass very gently with a very soft old cotton hankerchief saturated with the 50-50 mixture. |

This forum suggested using ordinary household vinegar in the past. I used it many times to remove fungus and it works!
