LH screw is a screw with a thread which turns in the opposite direction as usual. To loosen such a screw you will have to turn it clockwise, to tighten it turn it counter-clockwise. Fortunately LH screws are relatively rare on cameras. In most cases they are used where the normal movement of the parts attached to each other would go counter-clockwise - a standard screw would be loosened by the movement sooner or later. |
